What are we drinking?

The NCA National Coffee Drinking Trends (NCDT) 2017 report highlights new market research on consumer behavior and trends.

Key findings include:

62% of consumers reached for a coffee within the past day – reaching a level that hasn’t been seen since 2014.

24% of daily coffee drinkers choose espresso-based beverages, a leap of 6% from 2016 – the largest recorded one-year jump for the category in the history of the NCDT tracking.

39% of younger consumers drink gourmet coffee – suggesting new opportunities for coffee companies.

40% of daily consumers are drinking coffee prepared out-of-home, reflecting a continuing trend in behavior as lifestyles become increasingly mobile.
