We specialize in premium and specialty private label coffee programs for retailers.
What drives your passion for this industry?
Having started in the coffee industry in 1993, I think the evolution of specialty coffee is what drives me.
The best part of working in coffee is:
I get to drink as much as I want for free.
… Just kidding! Actually, it is creating the bridge between the farmer and end user. So many people take coffee for granted and have no idea how many people’s lives are affected by their purchase.
What’s your perfect cup of coffee?
Hmmm, that’s a toss up! A triple picked Sumatra or a nice Kenya … could you get any polar opposite? But they are both sexy!
Best advice you’ve ever received:
“If you’re going to do it … do it right the first time,” from my father.
What’s the next big thing in coffee?
Shhh, it’s a secret.
What’s the most important issue facing the coffee industry?
I think sustainability on single serve is one issue needing to be addressed, and the lack of young people in the industry is the other (stateside). At origin, social responsibility!
