The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) introduced a new web page and graphic timeline that consolidates the compliance dates for the latest Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) regulations.

The rules that include compliance dates, in the order they became final, are:

  • Preventive Controls for Human Food
  • Preventive Controls for Animal Food
  • Produce Safety
  • Foreign Supplier Verification
  • Sanitary Transportation
  • Intentional Adulteration

Compliance dates are also staggered based on the size of a business, with later deadlines for smaller businesses.

The FDA also provided a graphic timeline that shows all FSMA deadlines by month and year.

The NCA/GCA Green Coffee Template For FSMA Compliance

To help the industry navigate this legislative labyrinth, the National Coffee Association (NCA) and the Green Coffee Association (GCA) formed a task force of industry experts and experienced toxicologists to analyze FSMA’s implications for coffee.

The result of that work is the NCA/GCA Model Hazard Analysis Template for Green Coffee. Instead of building your plan from scratch, this guide serves as a checklist for an industry-standard FSMA hazard analysis — specifically tailored to green coffee.

This crucial compliance resource is now available to the entire industry – learn more.
